Specialisms
An overview of the specialisms we offer
Concentration & Focus Challenges
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is highly effective for individuals experiencing mental distraction, restlessness, or difficulties with focus. Through mindfulness, this approach helps develop greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, allowing you to manage them so they no longer hold you back.
ACT places a fundamental emphasis on personal values, helping you find a clear sense of purpose and direction. By designing realistic goals tailored to your daily life, this framework facilitates the creation of effective organizational strategies and enhances self-regulation.
Considered an evolution of traditional cognitive-behavioral models (within the third-wave approaches), ACT does not seek to “fix” or change how your mind works, but rather to provide you with practical resources to improve focus and optimize your daily performance.
Managing Anxiety & Low Mood
International Experience within the British NHS
Based in London, where I still offer online support, my official qualification as a Counsellor qualifies me to work with anxiety and low mood processes. I have worked within the NHS providing support to individuals navigating mild-to-moderate depression and anxiety. I hold a qualification endorsed by the British mental health framework in Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD), rooted in the Person-Centred Approach and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
Today in Spain, I bring this extensive international expertise into the framework of humanistic support and personal development. I provide tailored processes using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and compassionate listening to help you achieve your personal goals, enhance emotional regulation, and effectively consolidate your well-being.
LGBTIQ+ Affirmative Approach
Affirmative Counselling focuses on the exploration and celebration of our authentic selves as LGBTIQ+ individuals, addressing issues related to identity and stigma while navigating relationships and social pressures.
My goal is to foster a safe, confidential, and understanding space where you feel completely free to speak openly about your experiences without judgment, working collaboratively toward self-acceptance, confidence, and personal growth.
Connections, Intimacy & Sexuality
Sexuality and intimacy lie at the heart of our relationships, shaping how we connect with ourselves and others. In our sessions, I prioritize creating a safe, open space where you can explore and express your feelings, desires, and challenges related to emotional and physical connection. Together, we will address topics such as communication barriers, sexual identity, and relationship dynamics to achieve a deeper understanding rooted in mutual respect.
I work through an empathetic, non-judgmental approach using evidence-informed and effective methodologies. I will support you in exploring the difficulties you face within your connections, aiming to help you strengthen your intimacy, build a healthier view of sexuality, and foster more fulfilling relationships with yourself and those around you.
Cultural Transition & Expats
Having lived as an expat in the UK for 13 years, I have experienced firsthand the challenges of building a life far from my country and culture. I know intimately the isolation, displacement, and shifts in identity that come with this journey. In our sessions, I offer you a space to openly explore your experiences, navigate the complexities of cultural adaptation, and process feelings of homesickness or loss.
Working from a culturally sensitive perspective, I draw on my own background to help you develop emotional management strategies, strengthen your resilience, and build a meaningful sense of belonging in your new environment, without losing touch with your roots.
Self-esteem and Self-confidence Issues
It is essential to recognize how deeply your relationship with yourself impacts your overall well-being and personal fulfillment. In our sessions, I offer a safe, non-judgmental environment to explore the life experiences that may have led to a negative self-image.
Through evidence-informed frameworks like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we will work together to soften limiting thoughts, set realistic goals, and celebrate your achievements. My goal is to support you in building self-esteem, developing resilience, and strengthening your self-confidence to reach your goals.
Emotional Support through Prostate Cancer
My own experience as a prostate cancer survivor allows me to work from a place of deep, shared empathy, understanding exactly what it means to face this journey and the profound challenges that accompany it. A condition like this often triggers intense emotional upheaval, uncertainty about the future, and deeply felt questions.
In our sessions, I offer a confidential and emotionally safe space where you can openly talk through your concerns, fears, and doubts. Drawing on my own journey as a supportive reference point, I will guide you through managing the life impact of the various stages and recovery, as well as the effects this process can have on both your relationships and your identity as a man. My goal is to support you in accepting these shifts, helping you reclaim your new intimacy and welcoming a new masculinity.
Diversity and Intersectionality
My professional background in London has given me the valuable opportunity to work with clients from a wide range of cultures and nationalities, gaining a deep versatility and open perspective in the support process. I understand that the various facets of identity—such as culture, gender, sexual orientation, race, or socioeconomic background—interact with one another, shaping each person’s unique experience.
Creating a genuinely inclusive environment is vital to this work. Everyone’s reality is deeply influenced by their background and culture, elements that shape how we view the world and impact our emotional well-being. This understanding allows for a highly personalized approach that fosters resilience and individual empowerment.
